Competion Rules
On June the 6th, 2006, the Downtown Neighborhood Association launched the Downtown "Start it Up" Program. The program encourages people to start up their own group, club or society around any personal interest.
The program criteria are as follows:
- Groups, clubs, associations, societies must be organized by July 30, 2006.
- The meetings MUST be held at a location in Downtown Atlanta.
- The group MUST meet at least three times before November 7, 2006.
- The group MUST have at least ten individuals signed-up by November 7, 2006.
- Some examples of a "group" or "club" are: book club, walking club, knitting, wine tasting club, etc. The group must link people by a common passion or curiosity varying from hobbies and activities to intellectual or cultural pursuits.
- Groups will submit a final package by the competition deadline of Tuesday, November 7, 2006 that may include photos, scrapbooks, video or personal accounts describing the group's formation. Group leaders will get more information on how to submit the award application closer to the deadline.
- Prizes range in value from $1,000 to $5,000. Some prizes may be in cash or in-kind.
- The competition is open to everyone, and a member of the judging panel or program committee will join your club for at least one meeting.
- When choosing a club, please consider the safety of its members. The ADNA is not liable for any injuries of any kind sustained by members of the groups. If you would like a liability release for your members to sign, please contact us immediately and we can provide one for you.
