    The Broad Street Plaza initiative took off in January 2002 as the result of an ugly incident in Broad Street Plaza, specifically the area running between Marietta Street up to the Five Points MARTA Station. Spurred into action by this incident, Downtown residents decided it was time to take action to ensure the safety and quality of life of our neighborhood. Downtown residents made an effort to press for changes, seek information on the facts, and meet with law enforcement. The effort continues.
