Background: As you might be aware, after a recent eight-hour meeting,
the City Council's Community Development Committee voted to forward
back to Council a resolution related to State funding for the
Peachtree-Pine shelter. The resolution moves forward with a
recommendation to "file". Basically, that position allows the
resolution to die.
We urge you to share your opinion on this issue with members of City
Council. You may find the draft message below to be useful. A list of
City Council e-mails are also below. If you wish to share your
opinion, please do so before August 20, 2007.

Dear Councilmember _________________:
On August 20, we understand Council will address a resolution
forwarded from the Community Development Committee related to State
funding of the shelter at Peachtree and Pine managed by the Metro
Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless.
We strongly urge that you concur and vote in agreement with the
Community Development Committee's recommendation to "file" the
resolution.
