2003 ADNA Elections
Nov. 12, 2003
ADNA has four
officer positions : President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
For the first time in ADNA's history, all four position were filled!
- President - Dorthey Hurst
Dorthey Hurst, a resident of 123 Luckie Street, was voted in
as our new president. Dorthey comes in with a background of
getting organizations in shape, particularly in the area of
mission and focus, making sure that all members of the group
(officers, committee members and general members) as well as
people on the outside know what the group's goals are and are
all working in concert to achieve them. Dorthey will shortly
be putting together a letter of greetings outlining some of
her specific goals; that information will go out on this list
and be posted to the ADNA web site. To contact Dorthey in the
immediate: 404-713-1115 or dorthey@biltmorecomm.com.
Outgoing president Erich Starrett (300 Peachtree) will be
working with Dorthey and members of the new officers' team
to pass along knowledge, paperwork, financial affairs, etc.,
and help to make a smooth transition. Many thanks to Erich
for his years of dedication, as he's devoted enormous amounts
of energy to Downtown and the future of ADNA. We hope to see
Erich around continuing his good work through other avenues.
- Vice President - Patrick Busko
Patrick Busko, our new Vice President, is a native Atlantan
who grew up in Midtown and graduated from Henry Grady High
School. After graduating from UGA with a degree in Real
Estate he moved back to Atlanta and has worked in real estate
acquisition and development. He currently has a real estate
consulting firm based in the Flatiron Building. Patrick
and his partner moved Downtown in April of 2001 to the 123
Luckie Street building. He and his partner were featured
in Creative Loafing talking about Downtown.
A passion for Atlanta and for urban revitalization motivated
Patrick to live in the city. He shares, with many other Downtown
residents, a vision that the area will continue to evolve
into a vibrant district with residences, retail and restaurants.
Goals for DNA: 1) Increase membership by at least 25% in the
coming year; 2) Study/implement a security patrol for Downtown;
and 3) Coordinate with city to influence upcoming "quality
of life" legislation and enforcement. To contact Patrick,
the best way is email: pbusko@busko-davis.com.
- Treasurer - John Mount
John Mount, a resident of the Metropolitan, has been voted in
as our new treasurer. John will be charged with keeping ADNA
on track financially, whether it's depositing membership dues
or coordinating cash related to the Downtown Neighborhood Festival.
To contact John: jam74kg@bellsouth.net.
- Secretary - Wendy Darling
Wendy Darling, a resident of the Healey and a 4-year resident
of Downtown, was voted in (nominated from the floor) as
ADNA's secretary, where she will continue to handle ADNA's
communications, including meeting minutes, web site maintenance,
email list, and other communications duties (flyers, brochures,
letters, etc.) as required. To reach her, best way is either
via the ADNA email (downtownatl@hotmail.com)
or personal email: wdarling@abraxis.com.
