Dear ADNA List Subscriber,

Please read below and plan to attend tomorrow night's  (Sept. 9) ADNA meeting!  We have new wanna-be community members to vote on, including Fox Market Convenience Store on Broad Street and another Pawn Shop that wants to open on Peachtree Street.  We need your presence to sound off about it!

Next ADNA Meeting Tomorrow! Tuesday, September 9 at 6:30pm
Please attend this important meeting at the Downtown (Central) Library.  We need your help with two applicants for city permits: a liquor license for Fox Market (again - the owner is applying in his own name instead of his wife's name) and a pawn shop for Quincy Hammond at The Mall at 82 Peachtree St.  Please attend and make your opinions heard.  We are also handing out new collateral from CAP and the City to promote their anti-panhandling campaign - letting the suppliers (us) know that we don't have to feel guilty about saying no!

Happy Hour, September 19, 2008 at The Glenn Hotel Rooftop!

After a previous snafu at the Glenn Hotel with Maxim Prime, we are giving them another chance to host ADNA's Happy Hour!  Be there from 6:30pm to 8:30pm for drink specials (cash bar,) free appetizers and door prizes!
Other Downtown News

We are happy to inform you that after many years of effort by Central Atlanta Progress and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, last Tuesday City Council formally approved new vending legislation and also adopted the proposed Woodruff Park Master Plan.

The vending legislation allows the City to contract with General Growth Properties, a well-known national firm, to manage the City's vending program. This will allow for new, attractive vending outlets, a broader more enticing product mix, vendor training, as well as financial assistance to vendors provided through the Atlanta Development Authority.

The approval of a Woodruff Park Master Plan calls for exciting new long-term changes and additions. Park amenities could include a food vending station, new lighting, and a possible sit-down restaurant, as well as other infrastructure enhancements that are in the plan. In all, long-term projections call for $3.5 million in enhancements. Thanks to all who weighed-in with Council members with calls and e-mails on these issues and participated in the process. Your continued support makes historic changes such as these possible.
