Barry Real Estate Hosts ADNA's next meeting Tuesday July 10: A Plan for a Grocery Store Downtown!


In a change of venue, the Barry Real Estate Company and Post Properties, who are developing another phase of the Allen Plaza project north of Centennial Park will be presenting their new plans at our next ADNA meeting. This is the phase with the grocery store! Plan to join your neighbors at The Southern Company Building, 30 Allen Plaza. Walk or park in the building (bring your ticket for validation) and check in at the guard desk for an ID badge.  The meeting begins with snacks and socializing at 6:30 pm, followed by a presentation with updated models of the planned projects. This is the time to declare your support for this exciting new project!

Make Woodruff Park one of your Saturday errands!

CAP presents "Saturdays in Woodruff," your chance to enjoy an open-air artist market in Woodruff Park! On each Saturday in August, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., park visitors can shop from a variety of original artwork including jewelry, painting and photography.  The Reading Room is also open with newspapers, magazines and books for browsing. The Ambassador ForceŽ and Clean Team are now servicing the Railroad District!

Recently annexed by the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) and officially approved by the ADID board, Atlanta City Council, and the Fulton County Tax Commissioner's office last month, the Railroad District is defined as 20-blocks between Peachtree Street, Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Memorial Drive and the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.

July 11, 2007 Central Atlanta Progress welcomes critically acclaimed author Travis Holland to the Woodruff Park Reading Room at noon.  Holland will be on hand not only for a book signing but to read excerpts from his debut novel, The Archivist's Story.

July 13-22, 2007 Underground Atlanta's 12th Annual Heritage Arts Festival will feature a spectacular collection of fine arts and on-site demonstrations from world-renowned artists. The outdoor vendor market will house national and international merchants exhibiting jewelry, clothing, health and beauty products, African artifacts, art and a host of other specialty items. Nottingham Shire & Carriage will be holding a midnight motorcade, starting at 500 10th Street, turning right on Peachtree St, southbound to Marietta St, left at Marietta/Decatur Street, right on Pryor St. to MLK Jr. Dr. and terminate at 48 MLK Jr. Dr.
