Next Happy Hour: new Peasant Bistro at Centennial Park West, March 28
We are again inviting our Castleberry and Marietta Street neighbors to join us at The Peasant Bistro on Friday March 28 for a Happy Hour from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  Cash bar and free appetizers as well as gift certificate door prizes!

ADNA has it's own ING Neighborhood Challenge Cheering Zone!

The ING Marathon foot race will go on as planned this Sunday, March 30 and ADNA's Cheering Zone is at the Barbara Asher statue on Marietta Street at Broad St.  We are competing with 7 other neighborhoods for one of three cash prizes ($10,000, $5,000 and $2,500) to go toward neighborhood fitness initiatives.  ADNA is exploring adding a Fun Run to our 2009 Downtown Festival and Tour!  Key words to remember (since this is an abbreviated newsletter) are ORANGE (ING's color - wear it,) ENTHUSIASM and NOISE!  Oh, and 6:30 AM (be there before - the judges will be driving by to rank us and we're nearest the start line!) We need signs that recognize our group and encourage the runners.  Bring your own or make it when you get there.  Noisemakers are encouraged (sorry Metropolitan residents - it will be over before you know it!)  Coffee and donuts will be provided!

Downtown Festival and Tour News: We still need Tour Participants!
Be an important part of the 2008 Downtown Festival and Tour.  Applicants should send a brief description and 3-4 pictures by email to deboday@yahoo.com, or mail to Deb Day at 250 Park Avenue West NW, Unit 806, Atlanta, GA  30313.  Every person who submits an application will be contacted; we're looking for 10 lofts to show off in May.  The application deadline is extended.  Email Deb Day with any questions.

Support SR 845 as it goes to the Georgia House!

Georgia desperately needs funding for the construction, operation and maintenance of mass transit, including rail systems.  SR 845 would provide regions with the opportunity to vote on a special local sales tax or T-SPLOST to fund local and regional transportation projects, including mass transit. Tell your House members to pass SR 845!  They must hear from you by March 26.

Earth Hour Atlanta: Saturday, March 29 from 8-9pm

This global initiative is presented by the World Wildlife Fund and is partnered with the City of Atlanta.  Everyone in the city (from individuals up to major corporations, hotels, restaurants, local organizations, schools, etc.) will be asked to do one simple thing: TURN THE LIGHTS OFF FOR ONE HOUR - it's all designed to show how doing one small thing can make a huge difference in the fight against climate change.  Wattage will be measured and reported by Georgia Power.
