ADNA Meeting Tuesday, March 11, 2008

The next regular meeting will be at the Central Library (Carnegie and Forsyth) starting with refreshments at 6:30pm.  Presentations by the City of Atlanta's Connect Atlanta transportation study and ING's upcoming Marathon ( - our own ADNA Cheering Section will be organized!)

ADNA Thrasher's Night! March 13, 2008, 7pm - Make the Call TODAY!

By popular demand, ADNA Night at the Thrashers, March 13, will include two ways to save money on tickets!  Tickets only, at half off (in one of two price sections, $19 and $45) or tickets and a Kari Lehtonen jersey for $32!  For details download here and call or fax Kevin Gibson at Atlanta Spirit.  Tickets will be picked up at Will Call; those who want can meet at Slice (Fairlie and Poplar) at 6pm for libations before walking to the game!  Pablo has promised something special from the bar!

Downtown Festival and Tour News: We need Tour Participants!

It's time to show off your home!  Be a part of the 2008 Downtown Festival and Tour.  Applicants should send a brief description and 3-4 pictures by email to deboday@yahoo.com, or mail to Deb Day at 250 Park Avenue West NW, Unit 806, Atlanta, GA  30313.  Every person who submits an application will be contacted; we're looking for 10 lofts to show off in May.  The application deadline is March 31, 2008.  Email Deb Day with any questions.

Court Watch Workshop: Learn how to Advocate for your Community!

Have you ever wondered why the same people are always committing the same crimes and getting away with it?  CourtWatch sponsored by the Fulton County DA Community Prosecution Program encourages ordinary citizens (like you) to follow repeat and nuisance offenders through the court system to make sure their punishment is followed through.  The next CourtWatch Workshop will be held on Saturday March 8, 2008, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Justice Center Tower, 185 Central Ave, SW, Courtroom 1D. Anyone Up for a 5K Walk/Run on Saturday March 15?
 
The Downtown Dash for Diabetes, a 5K Run/Walk, will start in Hurt Park (no, really,) go through Downtown Atlanta by the Georgia State Capitol and through Historic Oakland Cemetery. The Dash brings together people from all backgrounds to support one common goal--to help those living with diabetes.

On March 17 Stand up for Cleaner Air, Less Driving, and Expanding Public Transit!

Spend this St Patrick's Day campaigning for greener transportation!  The fun begins with a breakfast from 8:30-10:00am at Central Presbyterian Church (201 Washington St SW, Atlanta, GA 30303,) where you will receive information about lobbying for this important cause at the Capitol from 10:00am-12:00noon.  A rally at the Capitol will be held from noon to 1pm, then meet for Irish celebrating and debriefing at Irish Bred Pub, located in Underground Atlanta (74 Upper Alabama St SW Atlanta, GA 30303.)  RSVP TO Erin Glynn, (404) 607-1262 x229 or email erin.glynn@sierraclub.org.  Sponsored by Citizens for Progressive Transit.
