Municipal Option Sales Tax (MOST)

The municipal option sales tax (MOST) is one tool the City of Atlanta uses to help keep water rates lower. Approved by Atlanta voters by a 3-1 margin in July 2004, the MOST allows the City to spread the financing of the $3.9 billion Clean Water Atlanta program to visitors and business travelers who use our infrastructure but don't pay for it, by adding 1 cent to Atlanta's current city retail tax rate. Based on financial results for last fiscal year, the City would have had to raise water rates approximately 48 percent to compensate for the lack of revenue had the MOST not passed.  This will be on the ballot Tuesday, Feb 5. We urge you to support this city funding mechanism at the polls!

Connect Atlanta Workshops

You are invited to join a series of open, multi-day workshops starting Mid-February through late March for the Connect Atlanta Plan.  These interactive sessions are designed for you to drop by at your convenience and work on specific transportation challenges in your area.  The workshops will be open throughout the day and into the early evening.  While the public can come anytime during the day, each multi-day workshop will have an introductory and final meeting in order to introduce you to the plan and workshop and then to present the work accomplished during the week. For questions or to stay up to date with the Connect Atlanta Plan, please visit the plan's website or contact our helpline at 404.330.6800.  While dates are specific to each NPUs transportation needs (we are in NPU-M) you may attend any presentation.
