At
the Oct. 12, 2004, ADNA Community Meeting, Jennifer Ball
of Central Atlanta Progress made a presentation on a campaign
to rename several connected streets after formar Atlanta
mayor Ivan Allen.
Summary
The proposal is to re-name the widened and improved corridor
between Peachtree Street and Northside Drive. The
corridor improvements only extend to West Peachtree Street,
while the proposed re-naming would extend to
Peachtree Street.
Currently driving on this corridor between Peachtree Street and Northside Drive
the street name changes four
times – between Ralph McGill Boulevard, Alexander Street, Jones Avenue
and Simpson Street. If you are
traveling eastbound, you currently also travel on West Peachtree Place.
