Welcomes
ADNA President Erich Starrett opened the meeting at 6:45
p.m. and welcomed the 30 people in attendance.
Second Donation to Atlanta Police Foundation
adna Vice President Patrick Busko announced that the ADNA
will make the second of its two $500 donations to the Atlanta
Police Foundation on Saturday, October 16. Proceeds from
the 2003 and 2004 Atlanta Downtown Festival & Tour have
made these donations possible.
Clean Air Campaign
Jennifer Owens, Education Program Director of the Clean
Air Campaign, introduced the organization and its initiatives,
which include “Cash for Commuters,” consulting
services on teleworking, and smog alert forecasting. The
Campaign is currently partnering with Central Atlanta Progress
on a Downtown walking initiative. For more information: www.cleanaircampaign.com or

Woodruff Park Renovations
ADNA Board member Cooper Holland announced that the renovation
of Woodruff Park has begun. The fall months will see drainage
improvements; the addition of electrical power sources for
special events; upgraded seating and tables for chess players;
and the addition of WI-FI (wireless fidelity) technology
through the Atlanta FastPass program. During the renovation
period, significant portions of the park will be closed to
the public. Future plans include space for a dog run.
2005 Festival and Tour
Co-Chair Jennifer Henderson invited anyone interested in
volunteering for the 2005 Downtown Festival and Tour of Lofts,
to be held May 14-15, to e-mail the ADNA at downtownatl@hotmail.com.
Renaming of Jones/Simpson/Alexander Corridor
The Atlanta City Council is considering a name change for
the Corridor to Ivan Allen Boulevard. NPU-M recently voted
against the change. Council Member Debi Starnes would like
the ADNA to vote on the proposal at the November Community
Meeting.

November Board Elections
ADNA President Erich Starrett reviewed changes in the governing
structure of the ADNA Board and encouraged members in good
standing to consider running for election to the 3 open Board
seats this November. Terms of service are two years, and
start in January 2005. Elections will be held during the
November 9 Community Meeting.

Next Meeting
The next monthly Community Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,
November 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Museum Tower Condominiums. The
agenda will include elections for 3 Board seats.
