Volunteer:
Jobs

Volunteers are the Festival & Tour fill many different roles. Here are the volunteer jobs that will need to be filled:

  • ARTIST MARKET SET-UP CREW
This is a specialty team and team members are specifically appointed by the head of the artist market. This group assists artists with load-in and general logistics to set-up the festival. If you are interested in being appointed to this specialty group, you should introduce yourself to Tony Stewart—head of the market.

  • TOUR CHECK-IN
This is like working retail. You will take/sell tickets, give patrons wristbands, give them a brochure, map and schedule of the tour, and maybe answer some questions about directions. So we encourage you to read the map and get familiar in case you need to answer these types of questions. Don’t worry, you won’t be left alone.

  • TOUR LOBBY GREETER
This is probably one of the most low-maintenance but interesting jobs. You are assigned to one of the building lobbies on tour and all you have to do is smile and welcome the people who are there to view the unit (s) on tour. You may be asked for directions or tidbits of history about the building, so be sure to read the attached background information about downtown and its high rises.

  • HOSPITALITY SUITE
This is a specialty team and team members are specifically appointed by the head of volunteers. There are 3-4 suite managers at all times, and they are responsible for checking-in all volunteers by giving them the nametags/credentials, t-shirt, assignments, and directions to their assignments. They also keep the hospitality suite neat and organized and ensure there is plenty of snacks and beverages available for artists, sponsors, and volunteers at all times.

  • BEER AND T-SHIRT SALES
This is also a fun job and the slots for this area go pretty fast. It is simply pouring beer from a tap, and selling the t-shirts. You must be 18 years old to serve/sell beer, and you must be 21 to consume (after you buy it of course!). You will need to card everyone—no exceptions! If you have a cold or slight bug and you are assigned to this area upon check-in, please let us know and we will re-assign you.

  • ENTERTAINMENT STAGE
If you like music and musicians, this is the job for you! You help artists orient themselves with their performing space, give them parking decals, show them where to unload their equipment and instruments, and give them directions to the parking lot and the hospitality suite.

  • SHUTTLE BUS GUIDE
This is a fun assignment for those who know the Downtown area well. The shuttle bus guides offer highlights about the Downtown neighborhood as patrons are transported among the various residential buildings on the Loft Tour.
