 We're getting ready for the BEST Atlanta Downtown Neighborhood Festival show ever!
Info For Visitors
Paintings, sculpture, mixed-media, collage, drawings, intricate handcrafts -- the Downtown Festival Artist's Market has it all. And this year, it's even better, because for the first time it's a juried show, meaning artists had to meet higher standards. We're also excited by the fact we probably have more artists that EVER -- about 50!
Many of the artists appearing in the festival are professional, quite a few having appeared at other art shows and festivals. Some are coming from out of state. Many of the artists have their own credit card processing systems set up, especially if their pieces are in the more expensive range. A few artists may only accept cash or check.
Info For Artists
First, we are now a JURIED show.
We have had such a great response from the community for both the arts and crafts and the tour of homes that we wanted to go the extra mile towards making ADNA festivals a real destination show. From our observation and experience, juried shows ensure the participation of the best artists in each category. Our jury consists of notable members of the Atlanta artistic community who have a vested interest in the quality and success of the festival. This is our first step towards putting ourselves on par with other outstanding festivals in the Atlanta area, including the Decatur Arts Festival and Inman Park, which draw people from all over the city and suburbs. Jurying the festival not only allows us the chance to pick the best artists for the show, but it also gives us the chance to strike the best variety and balance for all the categories.
Secondly, (now get excited!) this year's show will have PRIZES!
There will be a "Best of Show", as well as 1st, 2nd, 3rd places, and some other small notable awards. We are still in the process of assigning all the prize values, but right now we've secured about $2000 relegated for all of the awards. This is a great way for artists to take home extra money, as they will be cash prizes in various amounts. This is our first step in making ADNA a destination show for the best artists in Georgia and, soon, the Southeast!
Also all artists in this year's festival will receive some assistance with publicity. Participants will be listed on the festival website so you can get additional exposure before the show for your work. This will give people who hear about the show a chance to "sneak preview" of some of your art, and serve as added incentive to come to the festival and see everything you do! Also, you'll receive postcards that you can bring to other shows or send to customers on your mailing list so they can know where to find you next.
We pride ourselves on being an extremely "artist-friendly" market and will also be providing the following amenities;
Festival and art show hours are Saturday 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m.-6 p.m. (The festival also includes a Friday night of music, 8-11 p.m.)
