Publix GA Marathon is coming to town on March 17, 2013

Posted by debday | Events, Sports | Tuesday, February 5, 2013 9:09 pm

We’re organizing a cheering section for the Publix Marathon on March 17. The Publix Georgia Marathon Neighborhood Challenge encourages neighborhood organizations along the
race course to set up Cheering Zones in their neighborhoods and cheer on race participants on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Cheering Zones compete in 2 Divisions based on whether they are located on the Marathon/Half Marathon course or on the Marathon-only course. In the days immediately after the race, the race participants will vote online for their favorite Cheering Zone, and the top 2 Cheering Zones in each Division will be awarded the following award grants for neighborhood fitness initiatives:

Division 1: Marathon/Half Marathon Course
First Place – $1,500.00
Second Place – $1,000.00

Division 2: Marathon-Only Course
First Place -$1,500.00
Second Place – $1,000.00

Final 4 Signage Legislation

Posted by Stephanie | Politics, Sports | Monday, December 10, 2012 6:17 pm

Attached is the zoning legislation and summary fact sheet for the sign ordinance text amendment to the Downtown SPI-1 district only.  If this legislation is adopted it would require separate legislation (also attached) for City Council to adopt a temporary entertainment district associated with a particular event.

Any signage permit requests would have to comply with the sign ordinance requirements (i.e. the criteria and location restrictions).  Refer to the fact sheet in the zoning legislation for an explanation of the signage approval process.

This legislation will be heard at the January 10, 2013 Zoning Review Board (ZRB) public hearing.  Therefore, the Z-12-46 legislation will be placed on the December 10th NPU-M meeting agenda.  Enrique Bascuñana, Atlanta City Planner, will be in attendance at this meeting to answer any questions.
