7:30pm Vote to Update ADNA Mission Statement (Stuart Jackson, Treasurer):

Promotion and preservation of the Atlanta Downtown residential neighborhood through services including:

1. Outreach to the community to showcase the unique and historic architecture of the neighborhood; (i.e. loft tour, scavenger hunt, walking tours, etc)

2. Outreach to the community to enhance safety awareness; (monthly meetings, weekly eblasts, building relationships with APD, City Council, GSU)

3. Outreach to the community to improve quality of life for the neighborhood’s residents and businesses; (license review, monthly meetings, and just about every battle we take on)

4. Outreach to reduce the environmental impacts on the community through tree plantings, neighborhood clean-ups, recycling, and other long-term efforts; (monthly clean-ups, trashcan purchases, etc)

5. Outreach to publicize and promote educational opportunities for families in the community.

7:55pm Permit Applications – max 5 minutes each (non-voting members may be excused and leave the meeting early):

Announcements:
  • Annual ADNA Scavenger Hunt (Bobby Sauer): Two-person registrations for $40 at tonight’s meeting and then the Happy Hour. Savings of $10. We have only 9 registrants so far, but that is similar to last year at this point and no one in ADNA has registered yet.
  • Monthly Happy Hour (3rd Fridays of each month) will be at W Hotel’s 16th floor poolside bar
  • Monthly neighborhood cleanup: Sunday, June 19, 10am @ Woodruff Park Reading Room

3rd Annual ADNA Downtown Atlanta Scavenger Hunt 2011

ADNA (Atlanta Downtown Neighborhood Association) is back on Saturday, June 25 at 12:00 noon with the 3rd Annual Scavenger Hunt!! Register online via Active.com.

Also, there are two other fun FREE events held right after ours, including FREE concert performances by Yacht Rock Revue and Mother’s Finest on Peachtree St. at the Rock-N-Ride event!! So, stick around after the Scavenger Hunt for the FREE fun Downtown! See the following links for info on these other two events, including the live music line-up on Peachtree Street.

The start of the Scavenger Hunt will be Dania’s Restaurant at 26 Peachtree St. NW, at the corner of Peachtree St. and Marietta St. Get there by 11:30 a.m. for exclusive special early-bird prizes and announcements!! Dania’s has Mediterranean food, pizza, draft beer, and more or search on Facebook.

We once again have a great list of Downtown sponsors and a $500
CASH PRIZE TO THE WINNER as well as great gift card prizes to 2nd and 3rd place.

NEW THIS YEAR: Arrive at the start location (Dania’s Restaurant) ahead of time for early-bird prizes! Then, during the Hunt, ADNA sponsors will Facebook and Twitter during the Hunt for additional hints. Use it to figure out the mystery finish line location!!
