From Jennifer Ball of Central Atlanta Progress:

Central Atlanta Progress has been working with the City of Atlanta Office of Planning to develop legislation to amend the existing regulations of the SPI-1 Downtown District sign ordinance.  After significant input and discussion regarding the proposed changes, the City is ready to advance proposed changes through the legislative process for adoption.   The suggested changes are detailed in the attached documents. City staff is in the process of completing the paperwork for the attached legislation to be introduced to City Council through the Zoning Committee on September 15th.  The meeting on the 15th will begin the process that provides the opportunity for you, community organizations, the Zoning Review Board and City Council to provide additional review and comment regarding the proposed changes. Following are the key dates for the process:

September 15 – Zoning Committee of City Council

September 20 – City Council

September and October – Presentations to and votes by neighborhood associations and NPU M

November 4 or 18 – Zoning Review Board
