ADNA Monthly Meeting
January 12, 2010 – W Hotel

Jeff Lam started meeting at 7:00 pm.

Introduced Chris and Steve from Meehan’s Pub

  • Set to open in March
  • Own several restaurants around Atlanta, including Food 101
  • Hours will be from 10-2:30 am Monday to Saturday, and 10-11 pm on Sunday
  • Will have a St Patrick’s Day party
  • Downtowners will have a discount

Sgt Ellis from APD spoke about crime in Atlanta

  • Advice – when we see crime call 911 and don’t hang up
  • 911 will take priority calls first
  • Biggest problem right now are car breakins
  • Offered to have Crime Investigators come out to talk about keeping homes and businesses safe
  • Gave his phone number out to the attendees – 404-895-5134

Jennifer Ball from CAP spoke about Imagine Downtown

  • Broad Street Plaza initiative is almost complete
  • Marietta sidewalk streetscapes should start in March
  • Handed out CAP’s ‘wish list’ for the next phase of the project

Jeff Lam initiated a conversation about goals for the year/decade

  • Neighborhood would like to see more relationships with one another to find out what each other’s needs are
  • Todd has started compiling a list of building contacts in an effort to tie buildings together

Charlie McKinney spoke about Children’s Restorative Network

  • “Slice of Hope” benefit to take place on Saturday March 27.  Details will be in newsletter
  • Asked for donations from businesses for the silent auction

Peggy Rogers of ING Georgia Marathon talked about the annual marathon coming in late March, street closings, and the neighborhood challenge.

Conclusion

  • Meeting convened with a tour of W residences organized by Stuart Jackson

    Which Spring is Cap refering to? Streetscapes along Marietta street have been going to start every spring for the past 8-years?
